The SENECA 140™ is
a late 1998 design for the cedar strip canoeist and builder. Designed primarily
as a solo tripping & recreational craft, it's highest stability is achieved
using a wide stance kneeling position or sitting directly on the bottom, near
the center.

Featuring highly
recurved stems reminiscent of Native American watercraft, this 14 foot beauty
also offers generous tumblehome at the end quarters for paddling ease. It's
size and weight will have you looking forward to the next "portage"
or "carry". The SENECA 140's shallow arch hull and ample
rocker combine with it's graceful sheer line to beautifully present a soon to
be classic canoe!

Note: The plans assume you are thoroughly familiar with the actual construction process of a Cedar Strip Canoe using epoxy resin and fiberglass cloth. Although it includes our generously illustrated Building Hints packet, it does not include "step by step" instructions. For first time builders, we highly recommend BUILDING A STRIP CANOE (Revised Edition), by Gil Gilpatrick [DeLorme Publishing, ISBN 0-89933-026-6].
